I have my own opinions about J&J. He has not, nor will he ever get any business from me. I know the guy and see him at events in Texas.

Kind of stupid of the idiot to post pics and admit how much he charged for crap work. Not to mention when I hear someone say color sand and buff I know that they must have an issue with laying paint down properly.

All the big guys now days like Chip Foose all color sand their cars. A good detail guy can charge as much to color sand and buff a car as the paint job cost because it can take days to do the job right.

Troy how do you know this car was not a basket case before it was painted? I could see it costing that much or more to strip the car, replace a quarter panel or nose, repair some rust and dents plus fill holes very easy.

Paint and supplies alone for my car was over 1,500! Red is the most expensive color, one gallon is about 400 dollars for the paint with no hardener or thinner, most shops charge 75 dollars an hour and up for labor and hours add up fast doing body work.

A good body, paint guy will tell you it will cost more to fix,and paint your car than its worth!! I have done this several times, and they still want the work done!! So it comes down to how bad the car was and what they payed for!! The big thing is what did they agree on as price, and work to be done. There truly is a sucker burn every minute!! 8)

I rent the booth from my boss, Rudy's Auto Body in suisun. There are a few shops around fairfeld that rent them out. The going rate is about $150. 8)

Re: Another customer gets the screw WTF

Hmm I know Rudy from back when I was a kid, I used to build cars for his ex son in law, one of his sons lives out in the country near my parents. Where is the shop now? I think I remember seeing it on Railroad AVE the other day. Is that it?
