Hello
I was born and raised in Sacramento Ca, home of the Sac Bug-O-Rama, one of the most popular VW shows in the country. After attending my first Bug-O in 1979, I decided right then I just HAD to have a VW-- and I've been part of the scene ever since. I bought my first bug in 1983, got the engine running, but in the excitement I didn't bother to check the trans oil before I tore off around the neighborhood to show it to all my buddies. That excitement quickly led to a busted trans and to my first trans swap, which I enjoyed doing. Since that time, I've owned about 35 ACVW's of one variety or another and have always enjoyed tinkering and fixing and hot-rodding them myself. Currently I own a split-window bus and a 67 sunroof bug. I'm lucky enough to have a very understanding fiance' who not only lets me have my garage time, but she has become quite the VW enthusiast herself!
My 67 sunroof is my baby. I'm currently working on an 86x94 turbo street motor, but until its finished I'm using a little 1776. My fiance' and I are also working to fix up her 63 ragtop. And just as soon as we find my 15-year-old son a good starter car, we'll be busy with that as well. So when I'm not on the computer working on new material for Ultimate Aircooled, I'll be in the garage.
I have always had a love for photography and have been taking pictures for the better part of 30 years. I have a huge archive of Bug-O-Rama pics dating back to the very early 80's, and to this day I am an active photographer at as many VW events as I can get to. I have freelanced for HotVW's magazine, VW Magazine of Australia, Kustoms Illustrated, and other well-known publications. My work has been used in advertising by some of the biggest names in the ACVW industry, such as VW Paradise, CB Performance, Rancho Performance, Bug-O-Rama Promotions, and many others.
Ultimate Aircooled was born from frustration. As I sat clicking away through website after website for hours on end, I found myself often asking the same questions--- "Why did they do this, why aren't they doing that, why didn't they do a better job with this, why does it seem so much good stuff is missing?" So, I decided to start my own website, one which will (hopefully over time) answer all of my own questions. Please enjoy my vision as we continue to provide for the ACVW community so many new and exciting things that I have always wished others would do. As they always say, 'if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself'. I am personally comitted to making Ultimate Aircooled the "ultimate aircooled" website, and I hope you'll soon agree that I have succeeded in my mission. Have fun!
